This family-owned restaurant takes pride in bringing its authentic flavors from home to life and sharing a piece of its culture with you. When you go, be sure to try the Mole de Pollo. The dish is a Mexican specialty made with chicken in a sweet and spicy chocolate chile sauce. Another favorite is the tacos de alambre. Skirt steak is chopped up, seasoned to perfection, and tossed with chopped bacon, onions, chorizo, and peppers for a salty and spicy flavor in every bite.

Las Fajitas

Las Fajitas is a hidden gem of Boca Raton and one of the places locals hit up daily. This neighborhood is a casual Mexican dining spot that promptly serves savory tacos with a crunch and other traditional Mexican food with a smile. The guacamole is made to order with California avocados just the way you like it. Just let them know. 

Go hungry and start your meal with a meat quesadilla made on a corn tortilla. The seasoned meat is perfectly balanced with the melted cheese and earthy flavors of the corn tortillas. Then grab an order of fish tacos made with fresh mahi-mahi and served with avocado slices and nachos. If you’d prefer a low-carb option, get the zero-carb tacos made with your choice of fresh mahi-mahi, chicken, or steak wrapped in lettuce.

Save some room and end your meal with a traditional Mexican custard dessert called flan. The creamy sweet custard is topped with a caramel layer and helps balance out the spice from your meal.

Ahtziri Mexican Grill

Conveniently located in the Fifth Avenue Shops, Ahtziri Mexican Grill is a colorful and fun environment serving authentic Mexican food with flavors inspired by Oaxaca, rooted in spices from Zapotec and Mixtec. Try the empanadas to start your meal off right. They’re pockets of corn dough filled with cheese or chicken. Then try a tlacoyo. It’s a thick tortilla made with blue corn flour served with beans, your choice of meat, nopales, onions, cheese, cream, and freshly chopped cilantro.

The location has lunch specials from Tuesday through Friday and happy hour specials Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Calaveras Cantina, located in Mizner Park, is where Mexican food meets sexy. This restaurant specializes in exceptional cocktails, tequila, and tacos. You can’t miss a visit here. Ideal for a fun date or an evening with friends, Calaveras Cantina is an eclectic and fun locale recognized as one of the best tequila bars in Palm Beach County.

No matter your chosen entree, be sure to order the queso fundido. This dish is made with a blend of Mexican cheeses, tequila, and grilled onions, all melted together and served with flour tortillas. You can even opt to add chorizo or ground beef for a little extra.

While this spot began as a food truck, it deserves a mention. Tacos Wey has a location in East Boca and a daytime food truck stationed at Yamato Road, making this stop a convenient place to kill your Mexican food craving. Tacos Wey serves authentic Mexican street food ranging from tacos birria to gorditas and flautas. Or grab a yummy elote, corn in a cup traditionally topped with mayonnaise, cheese, chile pepper, and hot sauce.
